Skills of the Trade
Boom Truck operators are able to handle and guide any hoisting device or structure that is mounted on a truck chassis for the purpose of self-loading, transporting and self-unloading of goods and materials.
Apprenticeship
Teamsters Local 213 operates a training facility in Sardis BC and oversees some apprentices on an annual basis.
Boom Truck Operator - Class A program lasts 3 years and includes 3 periods of classroom instruction.
Boom Truck Operator - Class B program lasts 2 years and includes 2 periods of classroom instruction. On completion workers are issued a Certificate of Apprenticeship and the appropriate Certificate of Qualification.
